In the fourth quarter of 2022, the top five social apps on the Android platform in Germany exhibited notable performance trends. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics, based on Sensor Tower data.

TikTok saw a steady rise in weekly revenue, peaking in late December at approximately $1.1M. Downloads fluctuated, starting at around 51K in late September and ending the quarter at around 73K. Active users showed a slight decline, from approximately 7.8M at the beginning of the quarter to around 7.6M by the end.

Facebook maintained consistent weekly revenues, hovering around $14K to $17K. Downloads increased towards the end of the quarter, starting at approximately 41K and reaching around 55K. Active users peaked in late October at about 15.6M and slightly fluctuated, ending at around 15.1M.

Instagram displayed a gradual increase in revenue, reaching a peak of about $1.6K in late December. Downloads saw significant growth, starting at approximately 39K and climbing to around 55K. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 10.4M mark throughout the quarter.

BeReal. Your friends for real. did not report any revenue but experienced a steady number of downloads, averaging around 35K to 43K weekly. Active users consistently increased from approximately 232K in late September to around 409K by the end of December.

X showed modest revenue, peaking at about $104 in mid-December. Weekly downloads decreased from approximately 36K in late September to around 23K by the end of December. Active users decreased slightly, from about 2.5M at the start of the quarter to around 2.4M at the end.
